Mr. Imasato's Report

私たちスコットランドグループはエジンバラ、フェテスカレッジに到着して三日が経ちました。２０時間近くの空の旅。時差も手伝ってか到着時にはかなりの疲労感と睡眠不足に悩まされましたが（年寄りの私だけ？！）エジンバラ空港で出迎えのパトリック先生の顔を見たとたんに、皆「いよいよ始まるぞ。頑張ろう！」と決意を新たにした次第です。昨日月曜日は、午前中にクラス分けテストを受け、東海生は６つのクラスで早速勉強を始めました。１クラス約１５人。東海生は２〜４名が同じクラスです。外国人の生徒は、イタリア、ロシア、香港、ルーマニアなど１９カ国から来ています。生徒たちの初日の感想。英語教育システムの違いからか？！文法の正確さはともかく、たくさんしゃべること！！「こりゃ、ヤバい！！」と圧倒されていましたが、もう今朝は、「言っていることはだいたいわかるから、頑張って話すぞ！」と意気込んで出て行きました。そんな生徒たちをみていて、大丈夫！二週間後には英語のみならず、人間的にもいろんな面で自信をつけ、『一回り成長して』帰国できると期待が膨らみます。いろいろ楽しい行事も用意されていて、今夜は「タレントショウ（ジャグリング、剣玉、マジック、日本語など）生徒たちが自分の特技を披露します。最後は皆で「世界に一つだけの花」を歌おうかと思っています。ということで、順調にスタートしました。今後できるだけ毎日子供たちの様子を皆様に御報告するつもりです。楽しみにお待ちください。健康には十分に気をつけてやっていきます。

Kimmerghame House

The boys are staying in rooms in Kimmerghame House. Some of them are sharing with other students from Spain. We hope they make lots of friends here!

Warming Up!

The ice is slowly starting to melt as the boys feel more comfortable talking to other students. There are many nationalities here, 19 different countries in total. Big groups from Austria, Italy, Spain and Russia.

Safe in Scotland!

The boys have arrived safely in Scotland. They are tired but happy to be at Fettes. They were met by Patrick at Glasgow Airport and travelled by bus to Edinburgh (about 1 hour 15 minutes). They were shown their rooms and are now going to have a meal. they are sharing their house with some students from Spain and Russia.

Not long now until the boys arrive. They will probably be very tired but we are very excited to see them!

On the Way!

The adventure has begun and the boys are on their way here. How very exciting. I have received these images from Mr. Bond and Oshima kun. Thank you and have a wonderful flight. We will see you tomorrow!

First Meetings

The first time we meet new people it's important to make a good impression. We do this by:

• Smiling
• Shaking hands
• Looking at the person you are meeting in the eye
• Greeting them in a clear and friendly voice. It can be a simple "Hello!"

It really is that easy!

At 12:15 yesterday, I saw the Emirates plane coming in. This is the plane that will carry the boys to us next month. It's such a miracle to be able to travel so far and so easily. We shouldn't forget that!

JAPAN CORNER

The best way to learn something is to teach something. While you are in Scotland you will have a chance to show off some Japanese things to the other students. We call this Japan Corner and it's a highlight for everybody. What Japanese things do you want to show people?
